Ingredients

1 round of Brie cheese (about 8 oz)

1 medium apple (such as Granny Smith or Honeycrisp), cored and thinly sliced

1/4 cup brown sugar

1/4 cup chopped pecans or walnuts

1 tsp cinnamon

1/2 tsp nutmeg

1 tbsp maple syrup

1 tbsp unsalted butter

1 small sprig of fresh rosemary or thyme (for garnish)

1 package of puff pastry (thawed)

Crackers or sliced baguette (for serving)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

Prepare the Puff Pastry: Roll out the puff pastry on a lightly floured surface to eliminate any creases. Cut a circle large enough to encase the Brie cheese, roughly 10 inches in diameter.

Make the Filling: In a medium mixing bowl, combine the sliced apples, brown sugar, chopped nuts, cinnamon, nutmeg, maple syrup, and butter. Stir well until the apples are evenly coated.

Assemble the Baked Brie: Place the Brie cheese in the center of the puff pastry circle. Spoon the apple mixture on top of the cheese, ensuring even coverage.

Wrap the Brie: Fold the edges of the puff pastry over the Brie, tucking them in as you go, making sure to seal it well. You can twist or press the dough to create a decorative pattern if desired.

Bake: Place the wrapped Brie on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Brush the top with a little melted butter or an egg wash (1 egg whisked with a little water) for a golden finish.

Oven Time: Bake in the preheated oven for about 25-30 minutes, or until the pastry is golden brown and puffed.

Garnish: Once out of the oven, let the Baked Brie rest for about 5 minutes. Garnish with a sprig of fresh rosemary or thyme for added flavor and presentation.

Serve: Serve warm with an assortment of crackers or toasted baguette slices, allowing your guests to scoop out the melty Brie and apple filling.
