Creamy Chicken and Broccoli Pasta Bake

300g (10.5 oz) penne pasta

2 cups broccoli florets (fresh or frozen)

2 cups cooked chicken, shredded or diced

1 cup ricotta cheese

1 cup heavy cream

1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

1 cup grated Parmesan cheese

3 cloves garlic, minced

1 teaspoon dried Italian herbs (oregano, basil, thyme)

Salt and pepper to taste

1 tablespoon olive oil

1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions
 

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

    Cook the Pasta: In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil and cook the penne pasta according to the package instructions until al dente. Add the broccoli florets to the pot during the last 2 minutes of cooking. Drain and set aside.

      Make the Sauce: In a large mixing bowl, combine the ricotta cheese, heavy cream, half of the mozzarella, half of the Parmesan, minced garlic, dried Italian herbs, salt, and pepper. Mix well until smooth and creamy.

        Combine Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked pasta, broccoli, and shredded chicken. Pour the creamy sauce over the pasta mixture and stir until everything is evenly coated.

          Transfer to Baking Dish: Pour the mixture into a greased 9x13 inch baking dish, spreading it out evenly.

            Add Toppings: Sprinkle the remaining mozzarella and Parmesan cheese on top. If desired, add red pepper flakes for a little kick!

              Bake: Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the top is golden and bubbly.
