Ingredients

8 oz egg noodles

1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup

1 cup milk

2 cans (5 oz each) tuna, drained and flaked

1 cup frozen peas

1 cup sharp cheddar cheese, shredded

1/2 cup onion, diced

1/2 cup celery, diced

1/4 cup mayonnaise

1 tsp garlic powder

1/2 tsp black pepper

1/2 tsp salt

1/2 cup breadcrumbs (optional, for topping)

2 tbsp butter, melted (optional, for mixing with breadcrumbs)

Instructions

Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

Cook Noodles: In a large pot of boiling salted water, cook the egg noodles according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

Sauté Vegetables: In a medium skillet, add a splash of olive oil and sauté the diced onions and celery over medium heat until softened, about 4-5 minutes.

Mix Casserole Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, combine the cream of mushroom soup, milk, mayonnaise, garlic powder, black pepper, and salt. Stir until smooth.

Combine: Add the cooked egg noodles, sautéed vegetables, drained tuna, frozen peas, and half of the shredded cheddar cheese into the mixing bowl. Gently fold everything together until well combined.

Transfer to Baking Dish: Pour the mixture into a greased 9x13 inch baking dish, spreading it evenly.

Top with Cheese: Sprinkle the remaining cheddar cheese over the top.

Breadcrumb Topping (Optional): If using breadcrumbs, mix them with melted butter in a small bowl until coated, then sprinkle evenly over the cheese.

Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for about 25-30 minutes, or until the casserole is bubbly and the top is golden brown.

Cool & Serve: Allow the casserole to cool for about 5 minutes before serving. Enjoy your comforting homestyle tuna noodle casserole!
