Ingredients

4 salmon fillets (6 ounces each)

1/4 cup honey

1/4 cup soy sauce (low-sodium preferred)

3 cloves garlic, minced

1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated

1 tablespoon sesame oil

2 tablespoons olive oil

1 tablespoon rice vinegar

1 teaspoon black pepper

1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional for a kick)

2 green onions, sliced (for garnish)

Sesame seeds (for garnish)

Lemon wedges (for serving)

Instructions

Marinate the Salmon: In a medium bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, grated ginger, sesame oil, rice vinegar, black pepper, and red pepper flakes (if using). Reserve 1/4 cup of this marinade for later use. Place the salmon fillets in a shallow dish or a resealable plastic bag and pour the marinade over them, ensuring they're well-coated. Cover or seal and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes (up to 2 hours for deeper flavor).

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

Prepare the Baking Dish: Lightly grease a baking dish with olive oil or line it with parchment paper for easier cleanup.

Bake the Salmon: Remove the salmon from the marinade and place them in the prepared baking dish. Spoon a little of the marinade over each fillet. Bake in the preheated oven for about 15-20 minutes, or until the salmon flakes easily with a fork and reaches an internal temperature of 145°F (63°C).

Prepare the Sauce: While the salmon is baking, pour the reserved marinade into a small saucepan. Bring it to a boil over medium-high heat, then lower the heat to simmer for 5-7 minutes, allowing it to thicken slightly. Stir occasionally, and remove from heat once it reaches your desired consistency.

Serve: Once the salmon is done baking, remove it from the oven and drizzle the thickened sauce over the fillets. Garnish with sliced green onions and sesame seeds.

Plate: Serve the Honey Garlic Salmon with lemon wedges on the side for an extra zing. Accompany with steamed rice and sautéed vegetables for a complete meal.
