Ingredients

4 (6 ounces each) cod fillets, skinless

4 tablespoons unsalted butter, divided

4 cloves garlic, minced

Zest of 1 lemon

2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice

1 teaspoon dried thyme

1 teaspoon paprika

Salt, to taste

Pepper, to taste

2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Lemon wedges (for serving)

Instructions

Prepare the Cod: Pat the cod fillets dry using paper towels. Season both sides generously with salt, pepper, and paprika.

Melt the Butter: In a large skillet, melt 2 tablespoons of butter over medium heat.

Sauté the Garlic: Add the minced garlic to the skillet and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant, being careful not to brown the garlic.

Cook the Cod Fillets: Carefully place the seasoned cod fillets in the skillet and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side, depending on thickness, until the fish is opaque and easily flakes with a fork. You may need to adjust the heat to avoid burning the garlic.

Add Lemon Flavor: Once the cod is nearly done, pour the lemon juice and zest over the fillets. Add the remaining 2 tablespoons of butter and thyme to the skillet, swirling it around the fillets to create a luscious buttery sauce.

Garnish and Serve: Remove the skillet from heat. Transfer the cod fillets to plates, spooning the lemon garlic butter sauce over the top. Garnish with freshly chopped parsley and serve with lemon wedges on the side.
