Ingredients

1 large flour tortilla (10-12 inches)

4 oz cream cheese, softened

1 tsp Dijon mustard

4 slices deli ham (such as Black Forest or honey ham)

4 slices Swiss cheese (or your favorite cheese)

½ cup fresh spinach leaves (optional)

2 tbsp fresh chives, chopped (optional)

Ground black pepper, to taste

1 tbsp olive oil (for optional brushing)

Cooking spray (optional for a crispy finish)

Instructions

Prepare the Spread:

    - In a small bowl, mix the softened cream cheese and Dijon mustard until well blended. You can add a pinch of ground black pepper for additional flavor if desired.

      Assemble the Pinwheels:

        - Lay the large flour tortilla flat on a clean surface or cutting board.

          - Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly over the entire surface of the tortilla, leaving a slight border around the edges.

            - Place the ham slices over the cream cheese layer, followed by the Swiss cheese slices.

              - If you’re using spinach leaves and chives, sprinkle them evenly over the cheese.

                Roll It Up:

                  - Starting from one edge, carefully roll the tortilla tightly into a log shape, ensuring the filling stays inside as you roll.

                    - Once fully rolled, you may want to tuck in any ingredients that squeeze out.

                      Slice the Pinwheels:

                        - Using a sharp knife, slice the rolled tortilla into 1-inch thick pinwheels. You should end up with about 8-10 slices.

                          Optional - Crispy Finish:

                            - If you prefer a crispy texture, heat a skillet over medium heat, add a bit of olive oil or cooking spray, and place the pinwheels flat in the skillet.

                              - Cook for about 2-3 minutes on each side until they are golden brown and crispy.

                                Serve and Enjoy:

                                  - Arrange the pinwheels on a serving platter. They can be served warm or cold, and pair great with a dipping sauce, such as ranch or honey mustard.
